Ladybird Lake Fishing Guide
Situated in the heart of downtown Austin, Ladybird Lake is the last in the Highland chain of lakes along the Lower Colorado River. This small reservoir offers scenic views of downtown Austin and some of the best bass fishing in the Austin area!
With a maximum depth of just 18 feet, bass can be caught shallow all year long on this urban reservoir. While the reservoir is relatively small (468 acres), it harbors an excellent population of 5 to 8 pound bass and is capable of producing a trophy 10+ pounder on any cast. It is not uncommon for guided trips to produce limits of 20 pounds or more (5 fish limit).
If targeting big bass in shallow cover is what you’re after, a guided trip with Hill Country Bass Coach on Ladybird Lake is a must. Flipping and pitching the numerous trees and bushes along the shoreline offer year-round, big bass opportunities and, with the right weather conditions, the top water bite can be outstanding!

Bill, a Hill Country Bass Coach client, had this to say of his fishing trip on June 15th, 2016: "Had a great time fishing with Ray a couple weeks ago. I was pre-fishing for a tournament and Ray taught me some really good pointers on my home lake. His boat and gear are first class. I would recommend him to anyone looking to take their fishing game to the next level."
